Edwinge Raymond, Hospice Aide at Luminary Hospice

Edwinge Raymond, Hospice Aide at Luminary Hospice

Sometimes when we surprise a hospice monthly winner, whether in front of a group of their peers or on the jobsite, it is always a delight to see their faces light up when they learn that someone outside of their own organization is recognizing them for being exceptional.

When we arrived at Luminary Hospice and presented Edwige with the beautiful basket from Sugarbush, she couldn’t believe that another organization made the effort to come out and present her a gift for just doing her job. Yet, it is more than just doing her job that got her nominated in the first place.

Susan McGarvey nominated Edwige and here is what she had to say about Edwige:

I am nominating Edwige Raymond for the Hospice Caregiver Award because she has been exceptional at what she does for as long as I have known her. I first met Edwige when I was working for another hospice organization, and from day one she was nothing short of excellent. I remember being so grateful she had joined our team, and I knew right away how lucky we were to have her. Imagine my delight when I learned that she was the very first aide that was hired at Luminary Hospice when I came to join the team! The thing about Edwige is that she just quietly goes about her business, providing amazing care to her patients 100% of the time. She never complains (honestly, even when perhaps she should). Just last week I performed her annual supervisory visit, and she is just so textbook perfect at her job. The patient she visited (and his wife) absolutely adore her. Facilities appreciate her dependability. The nurses she collaborates with appreciate her communications. Her patient's supplies are always stocked. She is just so compassionate and steadfast in the care that she provides. There is not a day that goes by that I am not grateful to be on a team with her.

Congratulations, Edwige. You exemplify what it means to be a hospice caregiver.
